Alex Hepburn had his longest bowl of the season and helped Willetton Dragons launch an end of day one fightback in the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade clash away to Melville.
The Worcestershire all-rounder sent down 16 overs and finished with 2-44 from 16 overs, four of which were maidens.
The most overs he had previously sent down in an innings for Willetton during the 2015-2016 campaign was nine.
Melville reached 215-4 at one stage after being put into bat but closed on 269-8 from 90 overs.
Hepburn clung onto a catch to end the knock of century-maker C Willey (101) and then dismissed F. Hay (38) and M. Turner (seven).
The match will reach its conclusion next weekend.
Tom Fell's side, Mount Lawley, face a daunting challenge next weekend on day two of the WACA first grade encounter with visiting Subiaco Floreat.
Worcestershire batsman Fell and his team-mates spent the opening day in the field and their opponents amassed 422 all out in 89.3 overs after winning the toss.
Fell pouched one catch but J. Parker (77), C. How (71), A. Lilly (97) and J. Evans (97) helped Subiaco to a formidable total.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore's side, Penrith Panthers also spent day one of the Sydney Grade Cricket first grade match in the field against visiting Hawkesbury.
Hawkesbury won the toss and scored 225-8 from 83 overs against the in form Panthers with Kohler-Cadmore not called upon to bowl.
