New Worcestershire CCC president Mervyn King is keen to play an "active role" in the club's 150th Anniversary Year in 2015.
Lord King officially takes over the reins from present incumbent, John Elliott, at the club's annual general meeting on March 30.
But the former Governor of the Bank Of England has already made it clear he wants to be involved as fully as possible in a landmark 12 months in the county's proud history.
Lord King is a lifelong supporter of the county stretching back to the first County Championship title success in 1964.
Worcestershire chief executive David Leatherdale said: "Having had discussions with Mervyn, he officially takes over as president at the annual general meeting on March 30.
"We've had a recent meeting with him on his return from America, where he was working up until Christmas, and he is very keen to be involved as a president can be.
"He wants to play a part in the 150th Anniversary, both in a fund-raising capcity but also in as much profile and the benefits the club can get from his role as president.
"He is keen to play an active role. Hopefully the active role will include some functions and dinners as part of the 150th Anniversary schedule which will be finalised in the next few weeks."
Former Worcestershire wicket-keeper Elliott is standing down next month after two years, having previously had a spell as chairman for eight years.
