Worcestershire bowling coach Matt Mason has praised the "tremendous work ethic" of paceman Charlie Morris as he strives to expand his skills to combat the challenges of LV = County Championship Division One cricket.
Morris had a first season to remember with 52 Championship wickets in 2014 and was voted the club's Player Of The Year and Young Player Of The Year.
He has taken 27 wickets at an average of 33 runs apiece in the opening eight Championship games of this season including a career best match haul of 9-109 in the win over Somerset.
Today he clocked up his 100th first class wicket when claiming 3-70 against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
But Morris is not resting on his laurels and working on swinging the ball and enhancing his all-round ability as a bowler.
Mason, who is also the county's assistant coach, said: "Charlie he is understanding that fast bowling is not easy and running in day in, day out bowling pace in county cricket can be hard work and some days you are not as effective as others.
"He is also working out you have to do more with the ball than bowl it fast.
"You have to hit the seam and swing it, do something with it which is what Joe (Leach) and Shants (Jack Shantry) have done.
"He is working really hard to improve even more."
Former Worcestershire paceman Mason is determined to help Morris achieve his ambition of eventually playing for England.
He said: "It is only his second season. I think his goal is to play for England, absolute burning desire to play for England, and I want to help him get there.
"The great thing about Charlie is he works so hard. He just wants to work and get there. It won't be through lack of effort with Charlie.
"He just wants to always improve and he gets frustrated sometimes when he doesn't get the rewards.
"I say to him 'you always get them, you've just got to hang on in there'"
