Matt Mason says Worcestershire Rapids crop of young players are relishing rather than being in awe of this evening's sold-out NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final with Hampshire at New Road.
The Rapids will have the backing of a near 5,000 crowd for their first ever home quarter-final in the competition.
They will be bidding to help Worcestershire reach finals day for the first time in the 13 seasons of T20 cricket.
Rapids assistant coach and bowling coach Mason said: "They are excited about it. They are not thinking 'oh my God, we've got a home quarter-final'
"They are all talking about it and they can see there is a real opportunity to do something we haven't done before and get to finals day.
"I'd love them to get there and it would be an amazing day for everyone, particularly such a young group of players to experience that. They'll be trying their best.
"In some ways it's a shame there has been that gap between the group stages and the quarter-finals because you want to keep that momentum going.
"But they guys have had a chance to freshen up after the Notts game and will be full of energy and ready to go."
Mason added: "Will the players be overawed? Not at all. One great thing about having such a young squad is their enthusiasm.
"They thrive on it rather than find it a pressure.
"They will really enjoy playing in front of a big home crowd as well. They will want that support and they will need it and they are looking forward very much to the game."
As regards Hampshire, Mason said: "They are very experienced but this year we've had the wood over them in Championship cricket and I think they will be aware of that. They will be under a little bit of pressure.
"One thing we do know is how to play in our home conditions. We will be fine and I'm quite confident."
