Mcclenaghan Included In Black Caps Squad To Face South Africa

Mitchell McClenaghan has been included in the New Zealand squad for the opening One-Day International of a three match home series against South Africa beginning at Mount Maunganui tonight.

McClenaghan spent the final third of last season with Worcestershire before returning home early after his father passed away on the opening day of the promotion-clinching clash with Surrey.

He played in four LV = County Championship matches, returning his best figures of 5-78 against Derbyshire at Derby.

McClenaghan finished as Worcestershire's leading wicket-taker in the Royal London Cup with 10 victims in six matches.

The 28-year-old, who expressed a desire to return to New Road in the future, made his ODI debut in January 2013.

He has to date taken 48 wickets in 22 ODIs including 11 wickets during the 2013 ICC Trophy in just three matches in England.

New Zealand and South Africa are both using the one-day series as part of their preparations for the 2015 World Cup which is being staged in New Zealand and Australia.
