MILTON AND PENNINGTON INCLUDED IN SQUAD TO FACE AUSTRALIA ‘A’

alex milton and dillon pennington will make their first appearances of the season for worcestershire in tomorrow’s 50 over encounter with australia ‘a’ at kidderminster (11am start).

wicket-keeper batsman milton was a regular member of the side in the specsavers county championship during the second half of 2018.

he scored a century on his debut against somerset at New Road.

paceman pennington has recovered from a foot injury suffered in pre-season after also featuring in the championship side for the latter part of last summer.

he created a favourable impression with the likes of new zealand captain kane williamson and south african paceman morne morkel when playing against yorkshire and surrey respectively.

he has built up his fitness playing for shrewsbury and worcestershire seconds plus a good work out in the nets at kidderminster last week during the championship meeting with sussex.

opener tom fell and pace bowler charlie morris are also part of a 12 strong squad.

but wayne parnell is side-lined with the hamstring injury suffered during sussex’s second innings at chester road.

the squad consists of eight of the side in action against sussex plus milton, pennington, morris and fell.

the players have practiced today at malvern college in preparation to face the australians.
