alex milton is back training with worcestershire after a two-and-a-half month spell playing in south africa.
the worcestershire wicket-keeper batsman played for claremont cc in the western province cricket association league in cape town.
milton followed in the footsteps of notable international alumni including graham gooch, allan lamb, david steele and, more recently, tom westley in representing claremont.
south africa stars jacques kallis and gary kirsten have also played for the club.
milton enjoyed a fruitful spell with claremont, scoring an unbeaten century against bellville in addition to three fifties.
he ended his spell there on a high note personally by making 68 and bringing about five dismissals, including three stumpings, as stand-in captain against victoria cc.
milton’s efforts helped claremont to reach third spot in the table heading into the second half of the campaign.
he also spent time working at the gary kirsten academy and benefitted from several high quality one to one coaching sessions with the former proteas opener and indian coach.
milton will now be looking to build on last summer’s senior breakthrough at New Road.
he scored his maiden specsavers county championship century on his debut against somerset, played in seven championship matches in total and was part of the squad for vitality blast finals day at edgbaston.
