MISZKOWSKI HITS FINE 76 FOR UNDER-17S IN COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

MISZKOWSKI HITS FINE 76 FOR UNDER-17S IN COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

A fine innings from Joe Miszkowski could not prevent Worcestershire Under-17s going down by an innings and 10 runs to their Hampshire counterparts in the Specsavers County Championship at Totton and Eling CC.

Miszkowski came to the wicket at 82-4 in Worcestershire’s second innings and top-scored with 74 before he was last out with the total on 221 after 82.2 overs.

His fifty came up from 115 deliveries and in total he faced 147 balls and struck 11 boundaries.

Miszkowski received excellent support from number ten Josh Baker (18) and, after the pair had joined forces at 145-8, they added 68 runs.

Spinner Tom Prest did the bulk of the damage, claiming five of the seven wickets to fall on the final day and finishing with figures of 25.1-10-44-5.

Worcestershire had resumed on 66-3 and the overnight pair of Pete Clark (26) and Ollie Walker (37) were separated within eight runs of each other after a fourth wicket partnership of 59.

Wickets fell at regular intervals until the Miszkowski-Baker stand came close to making Hampshire bat again.

Worcestershire take on Somerset at Stourport, starting on Monday, in their final group match (preview to follow on Worcestershire CCC official website).
