Daryl Mitchell’s fine contributions with the bat against Glamorgan at Blackfinch New Road have propelled him to the top of Worcestershire’s run-scoring lists in the Specsavers County Championship.

The opener batted for more than eight hours in scoring 36 and 139 to lift his run tally to 549 this summer.

Riki Wessels also topped the 500 mark with his knocks of 45 and 32 batting at number six versus Glamorgan.

Ben Cox (528) and Callum Ferguson (503) had already surpassed 500 runs during the recent game with Gloucestershire at Cheltenham.

On the bowling front Charlie Morris’s third wicket haul of the season – 5-79 – propelled him onto the 40 wicket mark.

He picked up seven wickets in total against Glamorgan.

But Club Captain Joe Leach (38) and all-rounder Ed Barnard (35) are not far behind.
