Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell and Hampshire's James Vince are separated by just six runs in the battle to finish as the leading scorer in the LV = County Championship.

Mitchell had a rare double failure in the county's last match against Gloucestershire at New Road but has still amassed 1,226 runs at an average of 72.11 – just ahead of Vince.

The 30-year-old has scored five centuries and three fifties and faced 2,414 deliveries.

The duo are well ahead of Yorkshire's Adam Lyth who is the highest run-getter in Division One with 1,055.

Worcestershire have three bowlers in the top 10 of the Division Two leading wicket-takers.

Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal still leads the way with 63 wickets from his nine appearances for the county – 11 more than Glamorgan's Michael Hogan.

But Charlie Morris (42) and fellow paceman Jack Shantry (41) have also made major contributions along with Joe Leach (30) who came into the side after the opening four games.
