Mitchell: County’s Destiny Is In Our Own Hands With Two Games Left

Skipper Daryl Mitchell says he wouldn't "want to swap positions with any other team" ahead of Worcestershire's final two matches of the season in the LV = County Championship.

The county will start Tuesday's home clash with Surrey seven points clear at the top of Division Two as they look to bounce back in positive fashion from the defeat against Derbyshire at Derby.

Mitchell said: "It wasn't the result we wantd at Derby and we were disappointed with the manner of the defeat.

"But we have to move on and take the positives going into the Surrey game.

"Hopefully we can turn up, put on a good performance and get the result we really want.

"I wouldn't want to swap positions with any other team going into our last two matches.

"It's all in our hands and that's all we can ask for at this stage of the season."

Mitchell added: "We are happy to be the ones out in front and in pole position.

"We wanted to be in with a shout of promotion at the start of the season and to be at the top with two games left is really good going."
