Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell has been included in the MCC squad for the season-opening Champion County match against Yorkshire.
Mitchell could be opening alongside England Test captain Alastair Cook who is also in the party for the traditional curtain-raiser to the season in Abu Dhabi.
The 31-year-old has been named after an outstanding 2014 camapign in which he was the second highest scorer in Division Two of the LV = County Championship with 1,334 runs behind Hampshire's James Vince.
Mitchell hit five centuries and was also the county's leading run-scorer in the NatWest T20 Blast.
It will give him an opportunity to face the Yorkshire attack before the opening LV = County Championship Division One fixture of the season at New Road beginning on April 12.
Mitchell also featured in the MCC 200th anniversary match against Hertfordshire at Lord's last June when he scored 64 and picked up two wickets in a seven wicket win.
Then in October-November he skippered an MCC side during a two week tour of Japan.
The Champions County match takes place from March 22 and will be played under floodlights with a pink ball.
But before that the MCC squad will also contest the Emirates Twenty20 tournament on 20 March along with Yorkshire, Lancashire and Sussex.
The Nepal captain Paras Khadka is part of the squad for the short format, along with an “international T20 star” to be announced next week.
Cook will not lead the side in Abu Dhabi, with that honour instead falling to his former international team-mate Nick Compton.
Compton joined Worcestershire on loan from Somerset for the 2013 Worcestershire-Australia tour match at New Road and opened alongside Mitchell.

“Of course to have a batsman of Alastair Cook’s calibre involved shows the standing this fixture has in professional cricket and I’m delighted to have him at the top of the order."
Stephenson added: “MCC has played a big part in exploring the possibilities of day/night Test cricket played with a pink ball and we are hoping to see a day/night Test between Australia and New Zealand later this year.
“I’m sure these matches in March will show, once again, that pink-ball cricket can reinvigorate the longer form of the game."
