Moeen And Munro Chasing Trophy Glory With England And Auckland

Moeen Ali will be looking to help give England the perfect tonic before the 2015 ICC World Cup by overcoming hosts Australia in the Tri-Series final in Perth tomorrow (Sunday).

England will be playing their final One-Day International before the World Cup although they do have warm-up matches against the West Indies and Pakistan.

Moeen helped England to qualify for the final in second spot via victory over India by three wickets in Perth yesterday.

In the series the Worcestershire all-rounder has had scores of 22, 8, 46 and 17 – 93 runs at an average of 23.25.

But with the ball he has enjoyed more success with figures of 1-45, 1-31, 2-50 and 2-35 – a total of six wickets at an average of 26.83 runs apiece.

England will be the underdogs after losing both of their group matches against the Aussies who will feature former Worcestershire T20 player Steve Smith in their line-up.

Another player who has played T20 cricket for the county, Colin Munro in 2014, will be hoping to aid Mondiale Auckland Aces in their bid to win the Ford Trophy 50 over competitionin New Zealand.

They will do battle with Central Stags (Central Districts) in the final tomorrow.

Munro scored 53 when the Aces overcame the Stags by 45 runs in the first preliminary final last weekend to reach the grand final.

The 27-year-old, who was Worcestershire's second highest scorer in the T20 Blast last summer, had finished the group stages with 297 runs at an average of 59.40.
