Moeen Ali and Saeed Ajmal finished at the top of the Worcestershire Rapids averages in the batting and bowling departments respectively in the qualifying group stages of the NatWest T20 Blast.
England all-rounder Moeen made the most of his six appearances when international commitments permitted him to return to his county, scoring 238 runs in six knocks at an average of nearly 40.
His highest score was 90 in the away success over Northamptonshire Steelbacks – the first of six successive wins away from New Road – and he has been made available by England for tonight's quarter-final with Hampshire at New Road.
For the second year running, skipper Daryl Mitchell was the top run-getter with 392 but Tom Kohler-Cadmore was not far behind on 356 while big-hitting Ross Whiteley was the other main contributor.
On the bowling front Ajmal was as effective as ever, picking up 21 wickets in 11 games at an economy rate of just over seven runs per over.
Jack Shantry (16) and Joe Leach (15) were the other chief wicket-takers but the tighest bowler was Brett D'Oliveira who only conceded 6.45 runs each over.
