Moeen Celebrates First Test Series Win With England

Moeen Celebrates First Test Series Win With England

Moeen Ali is celebrating his first series win since becoming a member of the Engand Test team.

The Worcestershire all-rounder was part of the England team which defeated India by an innings at the Kia Oval to win the series 3-1.

Moeen had a quiet match but he had played his full part with his bowling performances in the wins at the Ageas Bowl and Old Trafford.

He ended the series with 19 wickets – a superb effort for someone who had started the summer being branded as a "part-time" bowler.

Moeen bowled only one over in this game during the India first innings as the pace quarter of James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes and Chris Jordan did the damage.

He made 14 from 24 balls with two fours in his only innings before being bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin.

But Moeen was involved in a run-out at the tail-end of India's spectacular second innings capitulation to 94 all out.

Varun Aaron turned the ball backward of square and went back for a suicidal second run which led to him being run out by Moeen's throw to Jos Buttler.

Moeen is now waiting to hear if he will be included in England's squad for the forthcoming ODIs with India.

He was part of the squad to the West Indies during the winter and player in three ODIs and a T20 international before participating in the ICC World T20 tournament in Bangladesh.
