Moeen Helps England To Complete T20I Whitewash Against Pakistan

Moeen Ali played an important role with the ball as England completed a 3-0 T20I whitewash over Pakistan via a Super Over triumph in Dubai.

The Worcestershire all-rounder finished with England's most economical bowling figures of 1-22 from four overs.

Moeen had been dismissed for a first ball duck, caught and bowled by Shahid Afridi, in England's innings after going into bat at number four.

England were then 48-3 but thanks to the efforts of James Vince (46) and Chris Woakes (37 with three sixes) they posted a challenging 154-7.

Pakistan also lost early wickets and Moeen reduced them to 65-5 when Umar Akmal (4) perished to a fine catch by Chris Jordan at deep mid wicket off a slog sweep.

Moeen was hit for two sixes during his final over after his initial three overs had cost only nine runs but he still only conceded 5.50 runs per over in his spell.

Pakistan managed to end their innings with the scores level on 154-7 thanks chiefly to Shoaib Malik (75) to open the way for a Super Over to decide the contest.

A fine over from Jordan meant Pakistan managed just three runs in their extra over and the loss of Umar Akmal.

Shahid Afridi took the ball for Pakistan but England reached their modest target to secure a third T20 win.
