Moeen Suffers Groin Injury And ‘rested’ For Final Odi With Proteas

Moeen Ali has been left out of the England side for tomorrow's third Royal London ODI against South Africa at Lord's.

The Worcestershire all-rounder has a groin injury and is being 'rested' for the final match in the series.

Moeen has made significant contributions with the bat and picked up important wickets in helping England move into a 2-0 winning lead.

He scored 77 not out off 51 balls in the victory at Headingley plus 2-50 with the ball and a quickfire 33 and 1-59 at the Ageas Bowl.

Durham's Ben Stokes (knee) and Warwickshire's Chris Woakes (thigh) are also being rested ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy.

The Middlesex pair of Steven Finn and fellow paceman Toby Roland-Jones plus Hampshire spinner Liam Dawson have been drafted into tomorrow's squad.

England launch their Trophy group campaign on Thursday against Bangladesh at the Kia Oval.
