Moeen Warms Up For Opening Test In Bangladesh

Moeen Ali warmed up for the first Test against Bangladesh in Chittagong with one wicket and 15 quickfire runs in the drawn two-day clash with a Bangladesh Cricket Board X1.

The Worcestershire all-rounder returned figures of 1-27 in nine overs as the Board X1 were bowled out for 294 in 74.4 overs.

He was one of three spinners in the side alongside former New Road team-mate Gareth Batty and another Surrey player in Zafar Ansari.

Moeen collected his one victim when he bowled number four batsman Mominul Haque for one.

When England replied, they were 'dismissed' for 256 although openers Ben Duckett and Haseeb Hameed both retired out after scoring 60 and 57 respectively.

Moeen came in at number eight and hit a six and two fours from 14 balls before he was bowled by Mosaddek Hossain.

Meanwhile, the County's end of season overseas player, West Indies paceman Miguel Cummins, went wicketless in the first Test against Pakistan in Dubai.

Cummins, who picked up 12 wickets in Worcestershire's win over Sussex at Hove, returned figures of 0-99 from 25 overs in the first innings and 0-25 from seven overs in the second.

West Indies were left a 346 target and had reached 171-4 during the second session on the fifth day.
