Morris Amongst Wickets For Mcc Against Western Province X1

Charlie Morris has been amongst the wickets for the MCC during their current two-day match against a Western Province X1 at the Vineyard Oval in Cape Town.

The Worcestershire paceman destroyed the middle and lower order as Western Province were dismissed for 95 in 24.1 overs in their first innings.

Morris finished with figures of 4-20 from 5.1 overs.

He bowled S Mallie (6) and L Van Vuuren (0), trapped K Sikiwiya (6) lbw and had U Qadir (12) caught by Middlesex keeper John Simpson.

Morris's performance followed on from him holding his nerve in the final over of a thrilling match to take MCC to their first win of the tour against the Kwazulu Natal X1 in Durban.

MCC then rattled up 304-6 in their first innings in 50 overs thanks chiefly to Graham Grace (95) and Wes Durston (73) – a lead of 209.

Morris struck again in the Western Province second innings, having A Daniels (11) caught by England paceman Chris Jordan.

Western Province are currently 95-3 – still 114 in arrears on the second day of the match.
