Morris Takes His Turn To Be Rested For Home Clash With Steelbacks

Morris Takes His Turn To Be Rested For Home Clash With Steelbacks

Worcestershire Rapids Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes has named a 12 man squad for the Royal London One-Day Cup group match with Northants Steelbacks at New Road tomorrow (Sunday).

Rhodes is continuing his policy of rotating his pace trio of Jack Shantry, Joe Leach and Charlie Morris.

For this game, Morris is rested and Leach is recalled after taking his turn to have a break from yesterday's encounter with Somerset at Taunton.

Shantry had been given a breather for the games at Durham – which ultimately was washed out – and Thursday's match with Yorkshire Vikings at New Road.

Morris has played in all LV = County Championship Division One matches so far this summer.

The Rapids will be looking to chalk up their first victory in the competition.

They have already played the Steelbacks twice in the NatWest T20 Blast, winning at Wantage Road after topping 200 and losing by just two runs in the return battle.

Ed Barnard will be looking to continue his good start in the competition which has seen him collect two three-wicket hauls and his first ever senior 50 at Taunton.
