Munro And Black Caps Team-Mates Are Frustrated By The Weather

Colin Munro and his New Zealand 'A' team-mates were frustrated by the weather in the opening match of the Triangular 50 over tournament with Sri Lanka 'A' at Taunton.

Munro has joined up with the Black Caps after a successful spell with Worcestershire Rapids in the NatWest T20 Blast in which he was the county's second highest run-scorer.

Sri Lanka were put into bat but only had time to reach 31-1 off 5.3 overs before the heavens opened and forced the game to be abandoned.

Munro and Co will hope the weather is better for tomorrow's meeting with England Lions on the same ground.

The tournament will then feature two matches at Bristol before moving to New Road next Monday and Tuesday for its climax.

The Lions will play Sri Lanka on Monday and then Munro will return to his adopted county to face the host nation 24 hours later.

The Lions have made one change to their squad with Boyd Rankin replacing Steven Finn who has been called into the senior squad for the fourth Investec Test against India at Old Trafford which starts on Friday.
