Munro Named In Blacks Caps Squad For One-Dayers And T20S In South Africa

Colin Munro has been named in the New Zealand squad for a series of ODIs and T20 matches in South Africa next month.

The Worcestershire Rapids batsman has been included for three ODIs and two T20 internationals between August 14 and August 26.

The 28-year-old represented his country for the first time in more than a year in last month's T20 international against England at Emirates Old Trafford.

Munro has been a regular member of the Rapids side which is on the verge of reaching the quarter-finals of this season's NatWest T20 Blast competition.

He helped them to qualify in 2014 for the last eight as second highest run scorer behind skipper Daryl Mitchell although this summer he has not enjoyed the same amount of success to date and has a highest score of 33.

Munro also played in the LV = County Championship clash with Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl when he scored 34 in his one innings.

Kane Williamson is to captain the Black Caps in South Africa in the absence of the rested Brendon McCullum who is currently playing for Birmingham Beats in the T20 Blast.

Former Worcestershire paceman Mitchell McClenaghan, who had a spell at New Road last summer, is also named in both squads.
