Skipper Richard Oliver's side Geelong City are lying in third spot in the Geelong Cricket Association Division One table.

City played the top two immediately before Christmas, losing on first innings to North Geelong and then seeing their match with leaders East Belmont abandoned after a rogue sprinkler flooded the outfield.

But Worcestershire opener Oliver and his team-mates are still well placed with 33 points from their opening eight matches.

Joe Clarke's side, South Perth CC, are lying in 10th spot in the 16 team Western Australian Cricket Association first grade competition.

South Perth have collected 32 points from their opening nine games with four matches won on first innings and five lost on first innings.

Leaders Joondalup have 65 points while bottom club Bayswater-Morley are on 16 points.

Paceman Jack Shantry and wicket-keeper batsman Ben Cox's fine efforts during the first half of the season have been unable to prevent Greenvale Kangaroos from struggling in the Victorian Cricket Association Bartercard Men's Premier Firsts competition.

The Kangaroos are currently second from bottom in the 18 team division with nine points from 12 games and two first innings victories.

Ross Whiteley's side, Prospect CC, are bottom of the South Australian Cricket Association first grade 13 team table with 30 points from seven games and one first innings win.
