Worcestershire’s hopes of making inroads into securing the six points needed to clinch promotion to Division One of the Specsavers County Championship were held up by the weather against Durham at New Road.
Steady overnight rain meant that no play was possible before lunch which was taken at the designated time of 12.30pm.
But there was encouraging signs for later in the day with the rain ceasing at about 12.15pm and the umpires planning an inspection for 1.15pm.
