No Wickets For Seconds On Rain-Shortened Day At Flagge Meadow

Worcestershire Seconds went wicketless on a rain-shortened second day in their Second Eleven Championship match with MCC Universities at RGS Worcester's Flagge Meadow ground.

After no play was possible on the opening day, only 45 overs were able to be bowled and MCC reached 170-0 after being put into bat under leaden skies.

The new ball quickly went soft after a few overs in the conditions and MCC openers Steve Bullen and Charles MacDonnell scored 101 not out and 64 not out respectively.

Bullen had two slices of good fortunes in being dropped in the slips by Tom Fell and at backward point by Ben Twohig.

He hit two sixes and 14 fours in his 143 ball knock while MacDonnell faced 127 deliveries and struck one six and eight fours.

Worcestershire skipper Shaaiq Choudhry bowled the most overs, conceding only 21 runs in his 13 overs.

There is a better forecast for the final day of the game tomorrow.
