Richard Oliver's side, Geelong City, secured first innings points from their Geelong Cricket Association Division One clash away to Lara CC.
Worcestershire opener Oliver had scored 121 on the opening day as Geelong amassed 303-9 – the highest team score in his four seasons at the club.
And Geelong skipper Oliver saw his bowlers continue the good work as Lara were bowled out for 132.
Geelong were a bowler light after opting to play an extra batsman but K. Agg (4-36) and M. Worthington (3-41) were in fine form.
Oliver brought about the run out of J. Stone for 23 as Geelong solidified their top three position.
Ed Barnard's club, Queanbeyan District, came close to forcing outright victory over visiting Ginninderra but had to settle for first innings points in the two day Australian Capital Territory first grade fixture.
Queanbeyan resumed on 47-0 in reply to Ginninderra's 208 all-out in which Barnard had returned figures of 4-40 last weekend.
He scored a quickfire 33 with the bat off 40 balls as Queanbeyan secured the first innings points and then declared at 243-3 – a lead of 35.
Barnard did not collect a wicket in the second innings, bowling five overs for 16 runs, but Guinninderra were dismissed for 116.
That left Queanbeyan with a victory target of 82 but they fell short on 56-1 made from just four overs with S. Taylor hitting 39 not out off 13 deliveries.
Jack Shantry picked up two late order wickets for Greenvale Kangaroos on the opening day of their Victorian Premier Cricket Bartercard Men's Premier Firsts clash with Monash Tigers.
Shantry returned figures of 17.1-3-34-2 as Monash were bowled out for 256 with county collegue, keeper Ben Cox, picking up two catches.
Greenvale reached 30-1 off six overs by the close.
Ross Whiteley was dismissed for five but his side, Prospect CC, drew their South Australian Cricket Association first grade match with Southern District.
Southern District extended their first innings total to 356-7 before declaring and Prospect reached 275-8 by the close.
