Opportunity Still Available To Purchase Bricks On County’s 150Th Anniversary Walk

Opportunity Still Available To Purchase Bricks On County’s 150Th Anniversary Walk

It is only just over two months until the first engraved bricks are shceduled to be laid on Worcestershire CCC's 150th Anniversary Walk.

There has been a sizeable demand for the bricks – available in four different formats – which will form part of the Worcestershire Way which runs parallel to New Road and leads up to the entrance to The View.

Prices start from as little as £60 as supporters have bought into the idea of effectively becoming part of the county's history at the start of the 150th Anniversary Year.

But there is still the chance to purchase the brick which appeals the most to you with the plan for the first part of the Walk to be completed late March-early April before the opening home LV = County Championship clash against Yorkshire.

And there is the capacity to extend the Worcestershire Walk further up the Worcestershire Way if the demand is sufficient.

Larger sized bricks are also available at £110, £200 and £500 respectively but they can all be personalised with whatever name, message or dedication you choose.

If you really love your brick, you may also wish to buy a replica as a special memento – or as a gift – and build it into your house, add it to the garden rockery, put it on the mantelpiece, build it into your drive or patio or use it as a paperweight.

Worcestershire commercial director Jon Graham said: "We released the 150th Anniversary Crest but we felt we needed something to kick off the year. The 150th Anniversary Walk was always going to be the first thing we had up our sleeves and it has gone incredibly well.

"We felt it would go well and we've already had quite a few orders in.

"People are continuing to buy into the Walk and towards the back end of March we will look to lay the first set of bricks.

"At the moment the space allocated will take a 1,000 single bricks at £60 each but we've got ones that are double bricks and bigger.

"If needed, we would look to further expand it up the Worcestershire Way if there is a demand for that.

"For dad, mother, grandad, grandmother, anyone who loves the club, from £60 they are basically buying a piece of history."
