wayne parnell will fly into england next week to begin his three year contract with worcestershire.
the south african all-rounder put pen to paper on a kolpak deal at New Road from 2019-2021.
he is available to play all formats of cricket during the next six months with the county.
twenty-nine-year-old parnell played six specsavers county championship matches in 2018, picking up 18 wickets at an average of 32.33 and scoring 273 runs at an average of 39.00.
he played nine vitality blast matches, returning 14 wickets at 18.35 and an economy rate of 7.94 and scored 57 runs at an average of 57.00 to top the batting averages.
first team coach alex gidman confirmed: “wayne parnell is due to arrive here at the end of next week.
“we will see if he is okay to physically play against gloucestershire at kidderminster (on april 1), physically in the sense of tiredness from travelling.
“at the very worst, wayne will be okay over at cambridge (april 5-7) and join us and crack on from there.”
parnell previously had a stint in county cricket with sussex.
