Paul Carrack Becomes Second Head-Line Act Of ‘concert Of Legends’ Bill

Worcestershire CCC are proud to announce that one time Squeeze and Mike And The Mechanics star Paul Carrack is the second head-lining act on their 'Concert Of Legends' bill at New Road on September 9.

Carrack, who is also established as a top singer-songwriter in his own right, follows Billy Ocean in being confirmed for the all-day spectacular at the County's iconic headquarters.

And there is even more good news to come in that a THIRD major head-lining artist will be announced in the near future.

Carrack was dubbed 'The Man With The Golden Voice' by the BBC and he has been the lead singer on many memorable tracks both as a solo and as a member of various bands.

He initially rose to prominence as a member of the band 'Ace' in the 1970s with the massive hit single 'How Long.'

Carrack sang on the Squeeze standard 'Tempted' and shared lead vocals in Mike And The Mechanics who had hits with 'Silent Running', 'The Living Years' and 'Over My Shoulder'.

He also was the voice on tracks from Pink Floyd founder member Roger Waters' albums 'Radio K.A.O.S.' and 'The Wall – Live in Berlin'.

Carrack is in demand as a session musician and appeared on big-selling singles including 'Darlin' by Frankie Miller, 'Angel Eyes' and 'Oh Yeah' by Roxy Music and 'Something About The Way You Look Tonight' by Elton John.

He has also enjoyed a successful solo career in his own right and in 1987 had an USA top 10 single with 'Don't Shed A Tear.'

Last year's album 'Soul Shadows' was a top 30 hit in the UK.

Carrack's songs have been recorded by artists such as the Eagles, Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Michael McDonald and Jools Holland.

The presence of Paul Carrack and Billy Ocean on Worcestershire CCC's 'Concert Of Legends' bill mean it will already be an event to remember – but look out soon for head-liner number THREE!

The Super Early Bird tickets have now sold out but Early Bird tickets can be purchased via the Worcestershire CCC website for £40 for the all-day spectacular.
