Tom Kohler-Cadmore may be only 19 but he is relishing the prospect of going into the Lions den.
The Worcestershire Rapids batsman admits the NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final with Surrey Lions at the Kia Oval today will be the biggest game to date of his short but blossoming first team career.
But Kohler-Cadmore, who is nicknamed 'Pepsi' is determined to enjoy the experience of playing in front of around 20,000 people as the Rapids look to reach finals day for the first time.
Kohler-Cadmore said: "Is this the biggest game of my career so far? Easily I reckon. Edgbaston was pretty good with 12-15,000 there so that was an awesome experience but this one, with it being a quarter-final, will be massive as well.
"I'm just looking forward to it. I just want to play it and see how it is. You've got to look forward to playing in these games because they don't come around that often.
"You want to be in the side and you want to be playing in it."
Kohler-Cadmore does not sound like someone who is apprehensive of the fixture and he said: "I think in T20 cricket you can't be. You've just got to go out there and enjoy yourself, express yourself and take on the challenge of Surrey.
"Hopefully we come off best and play the better cricket."
Surrey are hot favourites with the bookmakers but that does not concern Kohler-Cadmore.
He said: "If you look at this whole year, from the beginning of the year, we were written off in everything really.
"It just shows you don't need to be a favourite to be doing well and everyone is confident in the camp.
"There is no reason why we can't beat them down at their place.
"We've got the batsmen to do it and the only difference is they have international star players whereas they will feel the pressure.
"It's all on them. All the people outside the camp will say they are favourites. But we've got high confidence. We've got people who can hit the ball cleanly as they do.
"Colin Munro got 150 on Thursday, Ross Whiteley has done really well, hit really clean balls, I've had a bit of time in the middle, Mitch has done well all season so he will be feeling confident, Richard Oliver has done well in T20 and the Championship.
"The whole line-up has got confidence in it. We've got batting all the way down with Coxy, Joe and Chouds just like they have."
Paceman Charlie Morris, who is also part of the 13-strong squad, echoed the sentiments of Kohler-Cadmore.
He said: "It's great to be in the squad and very exciting. It's fantastic for the club and it would be great to get to finals day but we've got a lot of work to do before we get there.
"Our minds are very much focused on the quarter-final but it would certainly be an ambition for ourselves and the club to get to finals day.
"Hopefully this year it will happen and we can go down and put in a good performance in at the Oval.
"It will be a big challenge in front of a crowd like there will be there but it will be exciting and that's the way you've got to look at it.
"That's the reason we all love playing this game, playing professional sport, for those moments in front of big crowds and just to embrace it.
"Hopefully that will get the best out of your game and the team will do well."
