Worcestershire CCC will be celebrating the most successful periods in the County's history when they stage their 150th Anniversary Gala Evening-Awards Night in a Grand Marquee on the outfield at New Road on Friday, October 2.

Players from the trophy eras – the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s – will be looking back at their own successful spells at the County.

But this will be combined with the traditional end of season Player Awards including Young Player, Players' Player and the Dick Lygon Award.

It promises to be an evening to remember at the conclusion of an exciting campaign for skipper Daryl Mitchell and his players.

Worcestershire Commercial Director Jon Graham said: "We set ourselves an aspirational target. For me, it is THE function for the 150th Anniversary.

"We are going to significant expense to get the Grand Marquee that will be on the outfield similar to what we did for the centenary of being at New Road.

"We will have a live band and it is a really good opportunity to take a retrospective look at not necessarily the whole 150 years but the people who have been involved since we won the Championship for arguments sake in 1964, try and get some insight into what that was like.

"Ultimately it's the anniversary of the cricket club and, apart from the members and the supporters, it's the players who make the club and it will be interesting to hear their take on 1964-1965, and how the club has changed and evolved.

"We will be inviting players from different eras and looking to include people from all the Championship sides, the 1964-65, 1974, the 1980s and 1990s success, the 2007 Pro 40 League win.

"Whenever we've won silverware, there will be people to talk about it.

"We will split the awards night across the whole evening so we will maybe have two awards and then we will have a look back at maybe the 1964-65 side and hopefully get some imaginery.

"Then maybe another couple of awards, a look at 1974, two awards, a look at 1980s, two awards, and maybe finish off with Pro40 side."

Tickets cost £65 per person or £600 for a table of 10.
