Worcestershire CCC's players have all returned home from playing grade cricket abroad to start preparations for the 2017 campaign.
And a quartet of players in George Rhodes, Charlie Morris, Ed Barnard and Alex Hepburn all enjoyed successful winters.
All-rounder Rhodes helped Tea Tree Gully reach the semi-final of the South Australia Cricket Association T20 and One-Day Cup competitions.
He finished as his club's third highest scorer in all competitions with 548 runs at an average of 30.04 and a top score of 71 versus Glenelg.
Rhodes also claimed 23 wickets at an average of 18.26 with his best returns 4-18 against East Torrens and 4-37 versus Woodville.
His overall figures were 108.1-15-420-23-18.26.
Rhodes ended his spell with Tea Tree Gully also on course to reach the semi-finals of the first grade competition as they are currently lying fourth.
Paceman Morris played for Tuggeranong Valley in the ACT Premier Cricket first grade and he ended with 29 wickets from 14 matches at an average of 17.93.
It was an encouraging return for a player who spent last summer remodelling his action at New Road.
Morris helped Tuggeranong to win the one day Gallop Cup final with victory over Weston Creek Molonglo and they are also assured of a place in the two-day Douglas Cup semi-finals.
The Hereford born player enjoyed his best figures of 4-32 against Weston Creek Molonglo and 4-33 in his final appearance versus North Canberra Gungahlin.
Morris was his side's fourth highest wicket-taker but all those above him had played more matches.
He also showed himself to be a determined performer with the bat and was dismissed just once during the winter – and that came from a run-out!
Morris scored 74 runs from nine innings, eight of which were not out, at an average of 74.00 with a top score of 22 not out against ANU.
All-rounder Barnard showed plenty of promise in his first full season of senior action at New Road and he also experienced a successful winter.
He scored 692 runs and finished with 34 wickets from all competitions.
Barnard achieved scores of 92 (v Joondalup), 103 (v Midland-Guildford) and 96 last weekend (v Claremont-Nedlands) in a fine run of form with the bat since Christmas.
His best contribution with the ball was 5-78 against Rockingham-Mandurah.
In the same competition, County all-rounder Hepburn impressed for Willetton and scored 570 runs at an average of 31.67.
The highlight was his 127 against University. Hepburn had less opportunities with the ball and finished the winter with figures of 104.3-10-482-13-37.08.
Joe Leach, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Jack Shantry all came back earlier than expected during the winter.
New captain Leach, who had a slight knee niggle but is now completely fine, was keen to get to grips with the responsibilities of his new role while Kohler-Cadmore (shoulder) and Shantry (back) were forced home sooner than scheduled.
The entire squad will reconvene on March 6 to prepare for the pre-season camp in Abu Dhabi which gets underway three days later.
