Worcestershire Rapids had to be content with one point after their NatWest T20 Blast clash with Durham Jets at the Emirates ICG was abandoned after being hit by rain.
The Rapids had reached 103-5 in 14.1 overs – with Joe Clarke and skipper Daryl Mitchell their main contributors – before the heavens opened.
It ended their hopes of trying to complete a third win of the summer over the Jets following their 38 run home success in the T20 Blast and seven wicket away win in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
The Rapids players will now face a long journey home before tomorrow's #YELL4FELL and Cricket Versus Cancer home clash with Derbyshire Falcons (5.30pm start)
Kyle Abbott was handed his Rapids debut but the South African paceman was forced to postpone his first bowl for the County.
Durham put the Rapids into bat and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (0) was given out caught behind in Chris Rushworth's first over – a stark contrast to his superb century in the home meeting with the Jets.
Mitchell was dropped at deep square leg after pulling when on nought off Usman Arshad but then featured in a half century stand with Clarke.
Mitchell collected the first boundary when he turned an Arshad full toss to the fine leg boundary.
The opener turned Paul Coughlin through mid wicket for four and then Clarke stepped outside his off stump to whip Rushworth away for six.
Mitchell cut and pulled Arshad for boundaries in the sixth over to bring up the 50 partnership but in the same over he was caught at long off for a breezy and bright 28 off 21 balls.
Keaton Jennings bowled a tight spell and bowled Alexei Kevezee (5) after he had heaved across the line.
The Rapids reached the half-way point on 81-3 but then lost two wickets in quick succession.
Clarke, who scored his maiden T20 half century against Notts Outlaws, again looked in good nick.
He made 36 off 31 balls before he was was bowled by Ryan Pringle, losing his middle stump after attempting a sweep shot.
Then the last ball of Jennings spell accounted for Brett D'Oliveira (11) who holed out at deep backward square leg.
The Rapids went seven overs without a boundary but there was just time for Ross Whiteley (11 not out) to loft Pringle for six before the players left the field – and did not return.
