Rapids Home T20 Blast Derby With The Bears Is Sold Out

Rapids Home T20 Blast Derby With The Bears Is Sold Out

Worcestershire Rapids home NatWest T20 Blast match with Birmingham Bears is now an official sell-out.

The remaining 200 tickets for the local derby, currently between the top two sides in the North Group, were snapped up this morning.

It is another positive sign for the county after nearly 4,000 attended the home televised clash with Notts Outlaws – an unprecedented figure for a game shown live on TV.

Commercial director Jon Graham said: "As ever there is going to be a bumper crowd for the Birmingham Bears game.

"But to be sold out a full 10 days before the game is unheard of.

"It follows on from having 3,800 people here for a televised game on a Sunday afternoon (v Notts Outlaws) which was unheard of from our experiences of T20 cricket.

"I was walking around the ground during that game and you had Sky here, a full ground, the backdrop, the weather, a good game.

"I was thinking 'how happy are Sky with this' because more often than not, you watch T20 on TV in this country and the stadiums are not full.

"Now we hope we can have another good crowd for our next home game – also live on television – against the Durham Jets this Sunday afternoon (2.30pm start)."
