Rapids Seek More Tv Glory As Rhodes Looks To Defy “underdogs” Tag

Rapids Seek More Tv Glory As Rhodes Looks To Defy “underdogs” Tag

Worcestershire Rapids will look to maintain their 100 per cent success record on Sky Sports this summer when they tackle Notts Outlaws in this afternoon's NatWest T20 Blast clash at New Road.

Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes is hoping North Group leaders Rapids can again defy their "underdogs" tag in front of the cameras.

The Rapids defeated Birmingham Bears and Yorkshire Vikings on Sky in the T20 Blast and repeated their success over the Vikings in the Royal London One-Day Cup.

Rhodes has plenty of respect for the Outlaws but is also pleased with the performance levels of the Rapids before this week's double wash-out against Leicestershire Foxes in both white ball competitions.

He said: "Notts are a dangerous team. You've seen in the 50 over competition how dangerous they can be with some huge scores.

"It is going to be a massive challenge to beat those guys.

"But we have been playing well and it's great to be underdogs on TV again. They've got some big name players.

"Hopefully we can turn the tables and prove that the underdog can win."

Rhodes has named a 13 strong squad to face the Outlaws.
