Rescheduled Semi For Rhodes And Team-Mates After Weather Frustration

george rhodes and his onslow cc team-mates suffered weather frustration which has forced their crichq t20 cup semi-final to be postponed.

rain has resulted in the match against karori cc – and also the other semi between eastern suburbs and taita cc – being re-arranged.

they will now both take place on sunday at karori park.

it means the semi-final will now be worcestershire all-rounder rhodes’ final appearance for onslow before he returns to New Road.

if onslow triumph on sunday, rhodes will not be available for the february 28 final as he will be flying back home from new zealand the previous day.

rhodes played a leading role in onslow reaching the semi-finals with victory over petone-eastbourne.

the worcestershire all-rounder top-scored with 64 and picked up two key wickets as onslow kept alive their hopes of a cup double after previously winning the ewen chatfield trophy.

sunday’s opponents, karori, will include former gloucestershire batsman hamish marshall in their line-up plus new zealand under-19s opener jakob bhula.

but it was tom blundell (58 not out off 35 balls) who was the main contributor with the bat to karori’s 79 run semi-final win over victoria university.

rhodes and his team-mates will be looking to show strong determination with the bat on saturday during day two of the pearce cup clash with the university who recovered from 28-6 to reach 320-7 on the opening day.
