George Rhodes had his first meaningful bowl for a month and added three more wickets to his winter tally as North Canberra Gungahlin drew their weather hit ACT Premier Cricket first grade match away to Tuggeranong Valley.
The Worcestershire all-rounder had been restricted to just three overs in the seam friendly conditions against Ginninderra and the opening day of the game against Tuggeranong was washed out.
But spinner Rhodes made up for lost time as he sent down 19.2 overs, three of which were maidens, and ended with 3-64 as Tuggeranong were bowled out for 213 in 60.2 overs after being put in.
Rhodes has now taken 22 wickets in 10 matches for the Northies at an average of 18.41 runs apiece and is their second highest wicket-taker.
He then opened the innings and was dismissed for 10 as North Canberra slumped to 23-4.
But an unbeaten 92 from B. Taylor retrieved the situation and he shared in stands of 79 with J. Davies (46) and 67 with M. Boak (19) as the Northies ended on 207-9 from 48 overs.
Tom Kohler Cadmore's side, Penrith Panthers, fell at the semi-final hurdle today in the Sydney Grade Cricket first grade 50 overs competition.
The Panthers went down by seven wickets away to current holders Bankstown.
Penrith elected to bat and were dismissed for 118 in 48.2 overs. Kohler-Cadmore made four off 20 balls and was first out with 28 on the board.
Durham opener Mark Stoneman hit a quickfire 41 for Bankstown who reached their target in 28.2 overs.
