Worcestershire Rapids CCC Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes says it is important not to get carried away with the Royal London One-Day Cup opening match success over Notts Outlaws.
The Rapids overcame a side containing eight internationals via the Duckworth-Lewis Method under gloomy skies at New Road after being asked to chase down 168 in 22 overs.
But Rhodes knows there are plenty of more challenges ahead and other top notch line-ups to conquer for the Rapids to emulate last summer's quarter-final spot – with tomorrow's away clash with Leicestershire at the Fischer County Ground next on the horizon.
He said: "It was terrific how the underdogs came through, which was brilliant, but it is just the start of the competition.
"We don't want to get too carried away. It's good to have the points on the board, which is magic against one of the stronger teams, but there plenty of strong teams in that group.
"For us to qualify is our goal. If we can do that, getting through to the knockout stages is a big bonus for us and something to look forward to.
"But getting ahead of yourself is a mistake. We've got a tough game at Leicester followed by other tough games and there is no guarantee."
The County have named the same 13 players originally selected for the Outlaws encounter minus Daryl Mitchell.
Rhodes confirmed the 33-year-old opener is playing today for Brockhampton in the Birmingham and District Premier League.
