Rhodes To Skipper Worcs Seconds In Three Day Match At Northampton

Worcestershire Seconds may have completed their Championship programme but they still have two matches to play before the conclusion of the campaign.

Tomorrow they will start a three day match against a combined Kent and Northamptonshire side at Northampton.

Then from September 14-17 they will finally bring down the curtain on 2015 with a four-day fixture against Hampshire at Chester Road, Kidderminster.

George Rhodes will captain the side at Northampton with Alex Hepburn, who impressed on his two debut appearances against Leicestershire and Derbyshire in the Royal London One-Day Cuo, also included.

Ben Twohig, fresh from skippering the Midlands Under-17s to the England Development Programme Super Fours title, and Josh Tongue, another member of that victorious side, are also named in the side.

Spinner Twohig and paceman Tongue recently both signed their first professional contracts with the county which will take effect from October 1.

Keeping wicket will be Ben Tegg who last week impressed with the bat when scoring 79 for Worcestershire Under-19s in their three-day 112 run win over Warwickshire Unider-19s at Walmley.
