Saeed Ajmal says he will end his current spell with Worcestershire "a happy man" if they defeat Leicestershire at New Road and remain top of the LV County Championship table.

The Pakistan spin star will play the final game against the Foxes starting tomorrow (Sunday) at 11pm with Worcestershire currently four points clear of Hampshire and with a game in hand.

Saeed has taken 56 wickets in his eight Championship matches to date including six in six overs on the final afternoon during the victory over Leicestershire at Grace Road last month.

But the 36-year-old is full of praise for the performance of the whole team.

Saeed said: "I have one more game, we need to win that game as well, and then I will go back happy.

"I will go back happy with Worcestershire top of the table and join the Pakistan team for the Sri Lanka tour.

"I'm very happy to perform here for Worcestershire.

"They are a good set of young players. The bowlers have all done well as a unit, Mitch (Daryl Mitchell) has done superb as an opening batsman and the young batsman are now making runs."

Saeed has already indicated he would be happy to return to New Road in 2015 but admits he needs to rest up after the Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka rather than return to the county for the finale of the season.

He said: " I need to rest as well. We have some big series coming up.

"We play Sri Lanka and then we have 15 days off so I need to rest and get ready for the two series against Australia and New Zealand.

"That is why I am not coming back at the end of the season."
