Interim CEO Tom Scott says Worcestershire CCC now have to embark on "a period of consolidation" before they they can press ahead with Phase Three of the development at New Road and other future projects.
Scott, who has taken over the reins from David Leatherdale, is a life-long fan of the Worcestershire and relishing the challenges that lie ahead.
He is already working on a five year business plan with the aim of securing the County's future on and off the pitch.
The 56-year-old can call upon a wealth of business acumen as the founder of the Cotswold Group – the UK's leading company in surveillance, fraud and intelligence services – before it was acquired by G4S in 2011.
With the Graeme Hick Pavilion and The View conference facilities amongst the best in the City of Worcester, Phase Three will expand that development at the New Road End of the ground.
Scott, who has already been a member of the County's informal Strategic Group, said: "I think the club has had huge infrastructure changes with the stadium and we are in a period now of consolidation to ensure in the future we are ready for further building projects at the stadium.
"It is my job to continue the good work that David Leatherdale has started and to get us into a position where we can start to look at developing further and the team around me are up for that and for the fight.
“All the supporters and everyone at the club are looking forward to a successful season. We have a very young and talented squad who we believe will bring great success to the club with exciting times ahead
"I am enjoying the challenge of getting my hands dirty and understanding how the business works, how a professional sports club works, and trying to understand how we do things.
"I am learning 100% more every day I am here and everyone around me has been incredibly helpful and trying to help build a business plan that we can implement for the next five years so the club's future is secure both on and off the pitch."
Scott insists he has nothing but the future and the good of the club at heart after moving into the New Road hotseat for at least the next six months.
He said: "I've got an independent view and am only interested in what is in the best interests of Worcestershire County Cricket Club. ”In addition to winning cricket matches the club must be a sustainable business.
"This is a reflection of the modern game and the need for continued commercial success off the pitch is extremely important.
“Efficience’s and best practice will underpin the future of the club.
"As we move forward we need members and supporters to appreciate that any decisions that are made are in the best interest of the clubs long term future”
