Seconds Bidding To Continue Good Start In Championship

Seconds Bidding To Continue Good Start In Championship

Worcestershire Seconds will be striving for their third successive win in the Second Eleven Championship when they take on Durham Seconds at Stourbridge CCC in a three day fixture starting today (11am).

Coach Kevin Sharp's side have overcome Leicestershire at Oakham School and Northamptonshire at Kidderminster in their opening two fixtures.

It is in contrast to their form in the T20 competition where they are still looking for their first victory.

Tom Fell will captain the side in the absence of George Rhodes who has linked up with the first team squad for the Royal London One-Day Cup match with Yorkshire at Headingley.

Alex Hepburn is also part of the first team plans and is not involved at Stourbridge.

Ollie Westbury will be looking to continue the impressive form which has already brought him two hundreds for the Seconds this season.

Warwickshire batsman Freddie Coleman will again be on trial with the Seconds.

The Scotland international top-scored with 46 in the second of two T20 matches with Durham at the same venue yesterday.

Paceman Charlie Morris, who played in last week's Specsavers County Championship clash against Gloucestershire, is also included in the side.
