Seconds Chasing Victory At Cheltenham After Enforcing Follow On

Seconds Chasing Victory At Cheltenham After Enforcing Follow On

Worcestershire Seconds are strongly placed to force victory after picking up 14 wickets on day two of the clash with Gloucestershire Seconds at Cheltenham College.

The visitors declared on their overnight 412-6 with Tom Fell unbeaten on 52 from 51 deliveries.

Gloucestershire were then bowled out for 164 in their first innings with George Scrimshaw, Pat Brown and Alex Willerton sharing the wickets.

They were asked to follow on 248 in arrears and, when rain brought a halt to proceedings, had reached 139-4.

Gloucestershire were on the back foot right from the start of their first innings after losing four wickets for 31 runs.

The only substantial partnership saw Uzi Qureshi (54) and Chris Liddle (34) add 57 for the eighth wicket.

Scrimshaw finished with 4-55 and fellow Academy intake member Brown 3-32 while Willerton returned 3-29.

Willerton collected two quick wickets when Gloucestershire batted again before Will Tavare (53) and Kieran Noema-Barnett (71) added 106 in 15 overs.

But the third wicket pair were then both dismissed in quick succession before play was halted.
