Worcestershire Seconds fine sequence of results in the Second Eleven T20 competition has lifted them into third spot in the North table.

The county have reeled off four successive victories after double triumphs over Leicestershire and Warwickshire respectively – all at Kidderminster.

But their fine efforts have proved in vain as, with only two games remaining against Yorkshire next week at Barnt Green, they cannot overhaul Lancashire and Durham who have qualified for finals day along with the top two in the South Group.

Durham made sure of their place at Arundel on July 16 via a win and tie yesterday against Unicorns.

Worcestershire can reflect on having both games against Unicorns washed out and losing to a last ball six from Graham Onions in the second of the two games with Durham.

In the Championship,Worcestershire are currently lying in eighth spot with 21 points after drawing with Northamptonshire and being beaten by Leicestershire and Durham.

They take on Yorkshire at Barnt Green in their next Championship match from June 22 to 24 with the two T20s against the Tykes being held at the same venue on June 25.
