Worcestershire Seconds suffered a six wicket reversal at the hands of Warwickshire Seconds in their final Second Eleven Championship match of 2014 at Coventry and North Warwicks CC.

An unbeaten 118 from Tom Lewis helped Warwickshire to reach their target of 271 in a minimum of 62 overs.

The home side had declared in their first innings on their overnight 243-5 – a deficit of 107.

Worcestershire lost three early wickets in their second innings but after 20 overs, with the score on 54-3, the 'declaration' bowling was introduced.

Occasional bowlers Ian Westwood and Sam Hain conceded 109 runs in the next 14 overs before Worcestershire skipper Gareth Andrew declared on 163-4 at lunch.

Warwickshire stood on 110-2 off 29 overs at tea but then 49 runs were scored off the first seven overs after the resumption to give the innings momentum.

Lewis went onto strike two sixes and 17 fours in his 154 ball innings as the home side secured victory after 56.3 overs.

The Seconds will next be in action on Monday at the start of a three-day friendly with Middlesex at Radlett CC.
