Seconds End Summer With Four Day Clash At Chester Road

Seconds End Summer With Four Day Clash At Chester Road

Worcestershire Seconds will bring down the curtain on the 2015 campaign when they take on Hampshire in a four-day match at Kidderminster's Chester Road ground starting tomorrow (Monday).

The Seconds can look back on an encouraging season which has seen the performances of Joe Clarke, Ed Barnard and Brett D'Oliveira earn them promotion into the first team.

Alex Hepburn also tasted first team cricket for the first time and picked up six wickets in two Royal London One-Day Cup appearances.

In addition several members of the county's flourishing Academy have been successfully bloodied at second team level including batsman Ollie Westbury, paceman Josh Tongue and spinner Ben Twohig.

Coack Kevin Sharp's side finished third in their group in the Second Eleven Trophy and T20 competitions and gained an excellent innings victory over Yorkshire in the Second Eleven Championship.

George Rhodes, who signed a new contract after a prolific start to the summer, will again lead the side against Hampshire.

A reminder that play will get underway on all four days at 10.30am.
