SECONDS IN 50 OVER ACTION AT RGS WORCESTER IN PREPARATION FOR TROPHY

SECONDS IN 50 OVER ACTION AT RGS WORCESTER IN PREPARATION FOR TROPHY

Worcestershire Seconds complete their warm-up programme for the Second Eleven Trophy when they take on Gloucestershire tomorrow in a 50 over encounter at RGS Worcester.

The Seconds have already prepared for the SET with a trio of matches against Shropshire at Wrekin College, the Rapids versus Royals clash at Kidderminster and Somerset at Taunton Vale.

Now Gloucestershire will provide them with their final action out in the middle before a trio of SET games before the head of the month.

On Thursday (April 18) they face local rivals Warwickshire at Moseley CC, tackle Leicestershire at RGS Worcester on April 23 and visit Southport to face Lancashire on April 29.

Club captain Joe Leach will continue the final stages of his rehab after a stress fracture of the back.

The 27-year-old acted as 12th man for the first team’s three and four-day games against Cambridge MCCU and Leicestershire respectively.

Paceman George Scrimshaw’s comeback will also continue as he gradually increases his bowling workload after last summer’s back and rib problems.

Play gets underway tomorrow at 11am and admission is free.
