Shantry’s Brother Becomes Head Coach Of Shrewsbury Cricket Club

Worcestershire paceman Jack Shantry elder brother, Adam, has been appointed head coach of Shrewsbury Cricket Club.

Former Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Glamorgan left armer Adam had his cricketing career cut short by injury.

The 32-year-old is also a cricket coach at Shrewsbury School in addition to working for the Glamorgan Academy.

Jack, 26, who is currently playing in Australia for Greenvale Kangaroos, is a former Shrewsbury CC player.

Meanwhile Fulham striker Matt Smith, who played in the same Manchester University football side as Jack, has joined Bristol City on loan.

Smith moved from Leeds to Craven Cottage this season but was sent off on his debut against Reading and has struggled to hold down a regular spot.

Jack also played alongside England keeper Joe Hart at football and cricket.
