Skipper Is Special Guest At Rushwick Cc Awards Night

Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell was the special guest when Rushwick Cricket Club held their end of season dinner and awards presentation night at New Road.

And the club have promised to return the favour by organising an event for Daryl as part of his 2016 benefit year with Worcestershire.

Around 150 Rushwick members were treated to a 30 minute question and answer session with Daryl.

He also gave an insight his county career and his hopes for Worcestershire during the 2016 campaign before presenting the awards.

Stuart Lampitt, former Worcestershire all-rounder and Rushwick's junior co-ordinator, said: "It was brilliant having Mitch here.

"It was so inspiring for the youngsters in particular, to listen to advice, shake his hand and have their picture taken with him. They'll remember that for a long time."

Rushwick club president David Bryant said: "Next year is Daryl's benefit year at Worcestershire so we'd like to organise a big event at the club to help raise as much as we can for him."

Daryl said: "It was a pleasure to spend the evening with Rushwick, such a vibrant club that's bringing a lot of talented young cricketers through. I'm looking forward to seeing them at Rushwick again next summer."
