Supporters’ Association Launch Summer Of Marquee Luncheons

Worcestershire Supporters' Association stage the first of a trio of luncheons in the Chestnut Marque this summer on Sunday during the opening day of the LV = County Championship match with Warwickshire at New Road.

The luncheons have become a popular occasons with members and their guests during the past few seasons.

The cost of the ticket on Sunday is £22.50 for Association members and £27.50p for additional guests.

Worcs CCC have agreed that no charge will be made for entry to the ground for non county club members.

Coffee and biscuits will be served on arrival followed by lunch and afternoon tea.

The other Supporters' Association luncheons during the season will be on July 26 for the England Women v Australia ODI as part of the Ashes Series and September 2, the second day of the Championship match with Sussex.

It is also intended to hold another Christmas Luncheon in the Graeme Hick Pavilion after the success of the 2014 Luncheon which attracted 140 members.

The Association are again staging their popular Fifty-Fifty competition during the 2015 season.

There will be four draws made on June 28, July 26, August 23 and September 20 with prizes ranging from £50 to £500 for each draw.

Mr Mills reports that the Fifty-Fifty competition has already attracted more than 720 members for 2015 – an increase of about 80 on the same period 12 months ago.

It costs £20 to enter with profits going to the Ground Improvement Fund.

Application forms are available from Ken Mills c-o the County Ground and cheques should be made payable to Worcestershire County Cricket Supporters' Association (WCCSA).

The Supporters' Association have produced a quintet of souvenir items to mark the county's 150th Anniversary Year which are available from their club shop at the back of the Basil D'Oliveira Stand.

A large and small clock, a tumbler, a tankard and a paperweight can all be purchased. The large clock and paperweight cost £27-50p, the small clock £25.00p, the tankard £20.00p and the tumbler £15.00p.

Other items for sale include a 2015 Wisden signed by Moeen Ali and signed copies of the latest Tom Graveney and Barry Richards books by author Andy Murtagh.

*The Supporters' Association will stage their annual general meeting in the Chestnut Marquee on September 2 at 6.30pm.

Nominations for committee should be submitted by 12 noon on August 24.
